Case Study

IZWE South AfricA

CreditEase Micro Finance partners with IZWE Loans to support and grow micro- finance in Africa.

As a registered micro-financier, IZWE plays an important role within the financing community. It provides much needed credit through electronic banking channels to salaried employees with stable monthly incomes, who would typically fit the South African Lifestyle Sector Measurements (LSM) of 5 to 10. These borrowers generally have monthly household incomes of less than ZAR 7 500 but can still significantly improve quality of life through access to non-mortgage home improvement and developmental loans.

IZWE opened its first branch in Pretoria in 2004,...

Our African Footprint

KÉ CONCEPTS assists in unlocking potential in Africa

Africa is offering excellent opportunities for investment. Not just for overseas investors, but for local South African-based companies who are ideally positioned to leverage proximity and experience in the African landscape.

This expansion comes with a certain degree of risk. Companies may be reluctant to channel large amounts of capital to build infrastructures in untested markets.

CreditEase Hints & Tips

CreditEase V5

As mentioned, CreditEase V5 is packed with industry specific features (ranging from simple micro-loan agreements to complex structure corporate deals) which will be expanded on and analyzed in upcoming newsletter editions. For now, the enhancements that effectively span all sectors of the financial industry will be examined and explored.

So, CreditEase V5, what's new?

The single biggest enhancement is the availability of an integrated, state-of-the-art, workflow engine. This, coupled with activity queues accessed through user inboxes, provides organizations with the ability to automate and streamline lending business processes. A comprehensive suite of the more common business processes have been built directly into the software providing medium sized organizations with an ‘out of the box’ offering. Large scaled business can use these ‘standard processes’ as a departing point from which they can modify the flow to address their exact business requirements.

Document management has been integrated across the entire software suite enabling the user to both attach and review required documents at the appropriate step of the business process. Support has also been extended to a range of the more common document formats. And new features include document versioning, user defined validity periods, archiving and batch based retrieval functionality.

Version 5 sees the introduction of a number of new modules. The front office suite caters for the origination and approval of deals while the debts management set focuses on the rehabilitation of delinquent debtors. With the advent of these modules, the CreditEase application now provides cradle-to-grave functionality across the entire lending life cycle.

The application has also undergone a technology refresh with the web and smart ‘rich’ client presentation layer being upgraded to .net4 which has doubled the overall performance. Token based security has now been integrated into the suite. The database and workflow engine has been upgraded to the latest offering from Microsoft, namely SQL2008R2 and WWF4. And management information now uses the latest Power Pivot to deliver slice and dice capabilities. The scalability and overall responsiveness is therefore dramatically improved when Power Pivot is coupled with the Microsoft Excel 2010 client.
